This region of North Carolina is rich with sculptors and supporting organizations. You can find everything from hand forged/blacksmithed works of art to finely crafted sculptures.
Western North Carolina Sculpture Center & Park
The Caldwell Arts Council is proud to partner with the Western North Carolina Sculpture Center and Park, located just 15 minutes north of downtown Lenoir. They are home to some pieces in our private collection and also act as an outdoor retail gallery featurings works created by artists from all over the United States. In addition, the WNCSC hosts public events such as various iron pours, offers artist residencies and interships, as well as classes in welding, blacksmithing, casting, and much more. Tri State Sculptors Association
Formed in 1978 by a group of sculptors from Virginia, North Carolina, and South Carolina, Tri State Sculptors promotes public awareness and appreciation of sculpture in the region. They also provide members with opportunities to exchange ideas and information, especially at its annual fall conferences with concurrent exhibitions. Presentations cover a wide range of topics of interest to sculptors and those interested in sculpture, casting techniques, public art, studio hazards, gallery relations, professional development, etc. Click for more infomation.
